Safeguarding young people and potentially vulnerable adults is an absolute core priority for Rockhouse Skill Community Interest Company (CIC) and the Rockhouse Community Connect project.

Protecting Every Participant, Volunteer and Community Member
Every child, young person, and adult participating in our programmes has the right to be protected from harm, abuse, and neglect. We operate with strict, transparent safeguarding procedures across all venues, workshops, and community events to ensure an environment of safety, dignity, and mutual respect.

Safeguarding Policy
Comprehensive, regularly reviewed policy covering child protection and adult safeguarding.
Designated Safeguarding Responsibility
Trained designated leads responsible for managing concerns, reporting, and statutory liaison.
Appropriate DBS Checks
Enhanced and standard Disclosure and Barring Service checks for eligible roles working with youth or vulnerable adults.
Volunteer Code of Conduct
Explicit professional boundaries, respectful conduct, and behavioral guidelines for all team members.
Rigorous Risk Assessments
Prior health, safety, and operational risk assessments conducted for every venue and activity.
Incident Reporting Procedures
Clear, documented incident and disclosure logging with prompt referral mechanisms.
Informed Consent Procedures
Formal parental/guardian consent for young participants and clear participant agreements.
Photography & Media Consent
Explicit opt-in photo and video permissions respected at all events.
Safer Recruitment Practices
Interviews, identity verification, reference checks, and induction for all staff and volunteers.
Lone-Working Procedures
Strict protocols ensuring safety, open working spaces, and accountability.
Appropriate Supervision Ratios
Safe adult-to-youth supervision ratios maintained throughout youth sessions and events.
Emergency & First Aid Procedures
Clear emergency evacuation plans, first aid kits, and designated first aiders on site.
